To Beijing

The flight to Beijing was long. We were tired and Robby slept for probably 7-8 hours with me (Lesley) not too far behind. Ted only slept for about 3 hours. Interesting information is that we were going about 550 mph and the air temperature was -79 degrees. We spent most of the flight at 38,000 feet. I got a bit airsick and I'm going to take Dramamine before any future flights. I took some for this flight but not until I was feeling cruddy. We finally landed and got our luggage. Everything made it!!! Our guides were waiting for us and we loaded the car and made our way to the hotel. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready even though our guide called several times. We waited for awhile and then ate breakfast. Ted changed some money and they told us our room number.

We got settled into our room and showered. Then we walked to a local shopping area. We looked around quite a bit but didn't buy anything. We are still getting used to the money conversion.

Last night for dinner we went to Le Cabernet. I had prawns and they were served with their heads on. They were tasty though. Robby and Ted both had pizza. It was a pretty good dinner. The waitress shows you the bottle before she opens it to serve you. Also, there was some interesting silverware dance where the waitress came and picked up our silverware and then gave us new silverware.

We went back to our room and Ted and Robby went swimming. I went to bed at 8pm local time and was asleep before they came back.
