Vacation, Day 6

It's the end of day 7 and I'm trying to catch up...

We woke up at Apple Creek campground with the sole purpose of packing up camp and hitting the road.  After coffee, of course.

We got camp all packed up, coffee purchased, and on the open road by 9:30am.  Coffee is free at the campground but the cups are small and not enough to make daddy not cranky.

The drive North from Green Bay around the bay and eventually Lake Michigan is absolutely delightful and one of my favorites.  It's just peaceful and there's not been heavy traffic on that road in our experience.

As the day wore on, we got hungry because of a small, snacky breakfast and stopped in Escanaba at a place that's still under construction called Stonehouse.  Lesley and I ordered the exact same thing and both of us experienced the BEST onion rings that we've ever had in our life!  The kobe beef burger was good too, but those onion rings were simply outstanding.

Back into the vehicle we piled for the remainder of our drive up to Munising, MI. to our motel.

Turns out, it's a nice little town right on the Southern edge of Lake Superior.  We had our Pictured Rocks boat tour scheduled for 7pm so we had a brief bit of time at the motel and then it was time to figure out where we needed to be.

At this point, lets get on with some pictures to complete this post.

This is the view out of the front door of our Motel room.

This is looking back at the Motel from the road.

A shot looking out the back door of our motel room. They have various tables and chairs set up that families can find their own little spot to settle in and watch the sunsets.  We're looking due West in this photo.

Our room. Nothing fancy, but we aren't spending a lot time in their anyway!

This is on our boat tour.  We took about 200 photos on the boat tour alone so I tried to pick a few interesting ones to show here.

This was as we were heading back to dock and the sun was setting over Lake Superior.

Caleb and Robby were bouncing off of the walls as we were waiting to get on the boat but by the time we got about 3/4 of the way out on the tour, he was saying to me, "Ba Ba, no more.".  He was tired of the boat, tired of the cruise and tired.  We're thinking that vacation has done wonders for his sense of belonging to our family, but it is wearing the poor boy out!  This was his third nap of the day!
