Jamaica - Part 1 - Travel, The Flight

The first time to Jamaica! Hopefully it's not the last!  The 6 of us drove up to Minneapolis together and had dinner before heading to bed so we could be up early and at the airport for our flight.  We had dinner and drinks prior to bed just to make sure we'd all look like hell in the morning!

While we were waiting in the airport, that's when we were first 'Joelle' one of our flight attendants. 

There's some trouble waiting to happen, right there!  Our plane was sparsely populated, which was great so I could stretch out and stand when needed.

I can't recall if this is flying over Jamaica or if this is over Cuba...  We flew pretty much over the middle of Cuba and I seem to recall it being very barren, so I'm leaning Jamaica here.

Definitely Jamaica and I'm starting to get excited!  Of course, I'm in an air conditioned plane so my senses will be shocked once we get off of the plane.

On the ground and ready to depart our space craft!

Slightly different than American airports!!!  You walk outside and there's all kinds of locals selling various beverages and there's a band playing!  How they heck they tune their instruments in this heat and humidity is beyond me, but they sounded pretty good!

Oh well, we're off to find our bus and hit the trail for the 2 hour bus ride to our resort!

2024 Football Championship! Southeast Polk vs. Valley

If you've followed this blog for a while, you likely have noticed a VERY large gap in me posting!  Due to life getting in the way of things, I didn't post anything for a few months and got locked out of the blog.  Clearly, I've finally recovered it and am now playing catch-up!

So this is back in November of 2024 for the high school football championship game.  I'll let the pics do the talking, but will say, it was probably the greatest football game ever played.  Exaggeration?  You'd think so, but it really isn't.  Stunning game with every up and down you could imagine.
