Canada Day 6 - A Little Field Trip & A Fish!!!

Mike and myself went on a little field trip to get out of camp for while and to see a little bit of the area.  This is at Willsvile Lookout, about a mile north of camp.  There's the Willsville Tower Trail somewhere right behind us, but we didn't find that until later after asking some locals where the trailhead was.  It wasn't well marked.

You can see the road in the upper left quadrant of the pic, and once you crest that hill and go around a few curves, you're at the corner where you turn into camp.

That was behind us.  The trail is up there somewhere.

This is where we were parked...

There's a "No Parking' sign so Mike dug a official looking pylon out of the weeds to put up behind our vessel so that we would look official!

We went way back, as far as you could go to a small...  uh, village, I guess.  It was called Bearskin Lodge and Outfitters.  Just before this, we were actually driving, on a small, very narrow, ATV trail.  I finally said, "Nope, we're backing out of here" as it was about 25 - 30 feet elevated on either side should we screw up.  Luckily, we made it out without incident and then ended up here where this pic was taken.

This was the bridge that Mike & Caleb jumped off of two years ago.  The water was too low to be doing that now, thank God!!

Cool signs at the turn-off to head back to our cabin.

"Home sweet home"!

Tied for the biggest walleye caught on the trip, weighing in at 10lbs!

The fella who cleaned the fish for us.

The parts that aren't kept are thro into the water and it's cool watching the turtles come up and eat it.  So cool, in fact, that I failed to get a picture of them!

Sunset this lovely evening!
