Canada Day 1 - Travelling from Iowa to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario

Our mightly band of pirates left Pleasant Hill, IA. at about 7:30 after my son Caleb and I picked up Brecken and Mike. Caleb drove the first part of the trip until Madison, WS. where we had lunch at a place called Pooley's, as you'll see below, and then Brecken drove all the rest of the way to Sault Ste Marie, where we would get gas for the last time, hoping we wouldn't have to fill up in Canada.

I drove from there, across the border, thru customs (or whatever it's called...), faced a somewhat grouchy lady who wanted to know my license plate, how much beer we had and NOT an estimate. She was a tough cookie but I turned on my "Teddy Charm" and we made it thru largely unscarred. Just kidding, as I was truly about to lose my crap with her as the questions were stupid, my low back and ass hurt and I couldn't wait to get out of the car!!!  It was about another two minutes to the hotel.

The following are the pics that got us this far, with probably a little commentary along the way...

Let's get going.

This is Pooley's which has to be the coolest collections of sports memorabilia that I've ever ever witnessed. Geddy Lee of the band Rush, has a super cool collection as well, but it's mostly famous baseballs from amazing home runs or strike outs over the years, cool, but not this inclusive.

Three KC Cheifs Lombardi trophies!

Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce & Tyreek Hill Superbowl helmets!  This was probably my favorite as I love helmets, but the Lombardi Trophies were a VERY close second!

This is in the U.P. not all that far from Sault Ste Marie.  I like a good sunset and this did NOT disappoint!

A pic looking West at the bridge that we crossed to get into Canada.  It's hard to see due to the room light reflection on the window, but it was a cool view.

Technically day 2, but I'm including it as it was morning before we hit the road with Brecky boy driving again!  This was looking West again at the bridge we crossed the prior night.

And looking East, which is where we're headed in only a few minutes!  Let's hit the road!!!
