31st Anniversary Adventure

May 16th is our wedding anniversary and while I never posted anything about last year's trip to the bridges of Madison county, it was an incredibly fun day and I was looking for something for us to do this year.  A friend on the BookFace posted a Boone valley scenic bike tour.  Looked like fun, so I  booked it.

If you'd like to book your own tour after looking at the pictures, you can do that here.

There person on the right (sitting in the seats) is the 'primary' driver, meaning so long as they're pedaling, the electric assist function is working, making your life much easier!

I took this one to show how far ahead of us the previous car was.

You can see a very small bit of red on the rails behind me, that is the next car and I took this to demonstrate how much space they put betwixt the 'bikes'.

This was the part that I wasn't sure how I would do...  At one point on this bridge, you're 780 ft above ground.  It's beautiful, but don't look down!

About half way across the bridge, I decided to lean out and take a pic looking straight down.  Bad move.  I realized the only thing holding me in was a single waistline seatbelt and should a fella go goofy, you might just flip right out of that... I did not try that again.

Boone Y camp.

Crossing the Des Moines river.

This is where you stop to turn the buggies around.  Nice little 15 or so minute break to rest the legs at look at the river while they flip the vessels.

I took this on our 'bike' as we're about to head back.

The bridge looking East.

The yellow that you can see on the ground by the car in front of us, is part of the circle that a human rotates (similar to the one at the other end where they turn the cars around to head back) the vehicle to get it pointed in the right direction for the next tour.  Pretty slick!
