Couch O' Greatness!

Not much you could add to this couch to increase it's greatness!

Truck, Truck, Loose!

So I got home from work Wednesday afternoon, a bit late, but parked in my normal spot.  I carefully got out of the truck, carefully - since I fell in nearly that exact same spot on the previous Saturday,  surveyed the yard/driveway, walked around the truck to the passengers side to get my lunch box and work computer.  Once all was in hand, I went into the house to greet the doggies and Caleb.  I did that, looked back out the window and all was well.  I changed my clothes and talked with Caleb for a bit when it was time to go back outside to go pick up Rob from school.  My truck had slid down the driveway and off into the yard.

"How did I get it out?", you ask?
Not easily, it turns out.  The yard slants towards the creek (lined with  the trees in the picture) so as I started trying to back up, it slid further and further into the yard.  I almost made it back onto the driveway at one point but the slight hump permitted me from being successful.  I paused and surveyed my new situation as I didn't want to put the truck into the creek and raise my towing bill exponentially!  I finally rocked it back and forth enough to free it.  Thank goodness.

2019 Mini-Vaca3(but really 1), Chicago, Pt 3 - Harold Washington Library & Willis Tower

At the Harold Washington Library, they have a very cool exhibit called the Above and Beyond Exhibit which displays over 58,000 dog tags of Vets who lost their lives in Vietnam!  It was so cool and a bit overwhelming...

So cool the way the light reacted differently as you moved around the display!

After that, it was off to the Willis Tower for some long distance views!

I could really stay up here all day long if not for all the friggin' people!

I like the idea of stepping out onto something like this.  It certainly makes you feel "alive"!

Me and the boys!!  They were both a little gun-shy about this adventure, Caleb moreso than Rob.  Note his forced smile and the holding of my hand!

Love this!!

Me and the bride!!  I'm fat as crap!!!!   This very viewing platform was shut down about 3 weeks after our visit from some cracking in the floor.  I'm somewhat confident that my excessive girth was not a likely cause...   maybe.

A look at some of our fellow 'vator' riders on the way back down.

Buckingham Fountain, which is not operable during the season of our visit.

A Winter Throwback!

Little Robby and a skinnier Daddy outside in the fresh snow!  December of 2008.  I still have those boots, that coat and my favorite yellow shirt also makes a cameo!

Alas... Winter!

Taken from my desk at work.  I tried to get a shot a bit earlier when it was snowing even harder, but it was blurry and I was left with this shot.

Taken right around 1pm as I was leaving to go retrieve my bride up at the hospital.

Looking the opposite direction at the same time as the last pic.  What's funny is that you can't even tell it's snowing here but it was still coming down pretty good at this point.

Taller Than...

Rob and my sister Doris.  Rob is growing like crazy, driving like he's not crazy (thank God!!!) and becoming a fine young man who makes his papa proud!
