We left Tropic with the powerful and attractive Robert J. Schmitz at the wheel. We were headed to Zion National Park. Rob's driving was voluntary after learning of my lack of sleep the previous two nights.
He got to a familiar intersection that we'd driven past a few times and he issued a proclamation that he was tired and getting the bobble-heads and needed to switch. Good boy.
Mama Chaos took over the reigns and drove us down thru our initial introduction to Zion as we headed towards a place called Zion Guru.
These are pics of driving there...

I love pictures of kids wiped out on vacations. It gives mom and dad a sense that we're doing things right. I may be 100% wrong to other families, but it's a sense of accomplishment.

Our place to pick up our hiking boots at hiking poles. Great young people who have an energy that my wife and I have aged beyond.
We took a different route home which was was cool, but probably a bit longer than going thru the park and returning from the path that we came from. |
